Young Men of God Movement

“Young Men of God is a community of faith that helps young men see the truth that they are “of God”, and that’s why it’s such a gift to the Church.”

                                                                                  - Archbishop Mark Coleridge.

YMG is an Australian movement of 16-35 year old Catholic men seeking the fullness of life that only Jesus can give (John 10:10).

We’re passionately committed to being transformed by God’s Word and empowered by the Spirit to courageously stand up and be men of example and influence within our family, workplace, community, country and the world. Our mission is to re-ignite men throughout our country: to help them reach their God-given potential, to be heralds of the truth for future generations and to empower others to realise their immense value and purpose as sons and daughters of God.

Being a man isn’t easy! We’re bound by expectations, responsibilities and pressures. That’s why YMG stick together; we reckon that life done together is done better! YMG is a Catholic movement open to all men and not belonging to any particular parish or other Church movement. Rather it is a valuable resource for empowering others to be leaders in their respective parishes and communities. Our vision is to form men to:

  • Rise up as leaders in word and action to be influential in the church and the world.
  • Come to their full potential in Christ by spiritual growth in him
  • Discover the freedom and truth of walking with moral integrity
  • Support one another in coming to fullness of identity as a man
  • Grow in purity of heart and the chaste life
  • Break the chains of addiction and walk in the freedom of Christ
  • Establish fruitful, healthy and lasting relationships
We achieve these goals through conferences, weekends away, regular small groups and fellowship.

Our Founder...and his Vision

When I was in Assisi in the Jubilee Year 2000, I had the opportunity to pray at the small church where St. Francis and his brothers spent much of their time.
While praying, I sensed that the Lord wanted to initiate a movement of young men in Australia, which would spread throughout the land.
He wanted young men to rise up in the Church today with a deep faith, purity of heart, and strength of character. They will become leaders for the future.
I sensed he wanted to start in Australia because in this country there is a crisis in the hearts of young men.
The Lord wants to help us change; we can be made new. Now is the time to seize hold of this moment of grace.
We are in for the ride of our lives!
