Young Men of God Movement

“Young Men of God is a community of faith that helps young men see the truth that they are “of God”, and that’s why it’s such a gift to the Church.”

          - Archbishop Mark Coleridge.

YMG is an Australian movement of 16-35 year old Catholic men seeking the fullness of life that only Jesus can give (John 10:10).

We’re passionately committed to being transformed by God’s Word and empowered by the Spirit to courageously stand up and be men of example and influence within our family, workplace, community, country and the world. Our mission is to re-ignite men throughout our country: to help them reach their God-given potential, to be heralds of the truth for future generations and  to empower others to realise their immense value and purpose as children of God.

Being a man isn’t easy! We’re bound by expectations, responsibilities and pressures. That’s why YMG stick together; we reckon that life done together is done better! We’re confident this movement is a special gift from God, which in the year 2000 was placed on the heart of Fr Ken Barker whilst he was on pilgrimage in Assisi.

YMG is a Catholic movement open to all men and not belonging to any particular parish or other Church movement. Rather it is a valuable resource for empowering others to be leaders in their respective parishes and communities. Our vision is to form men to:

  • Rise up as leaders in word and action to be influential in the church and the world.
  • Come to their full potential in Christ by spiritual growth in him
  • Discover the freedom and truth of walking with moral integrity
  • Support one another in coming to fullness of identity as a man
  • Grow in purity of heart and the chaste life
  • Break the chains of addiction and walk in the freedom of Christ
  • Establish fruitful, healthy and lasting relationships We achieve these goals through conferences, weekends away, regular small groups and fellowship.
