We’re regular guys: students, young professionals, tradies, teachers. We come from many different cultures and walks of life but we’re good mates because we believe in the power of brotherhood and the value of sharing ideas, talents, resources and time to support and strengthen one another on the journey.
This is who we are, and empowered by the truth our mission is to witness genuine strength and goodness to the world.
At this same time two young men in Canberra, Nick Seselja and Ben O’Heir, had a similar vision and decided to start a regular gathering for local young men. Soon after they heard about Fr. Ken’s experience in Assisi and a short while after YMG was born.
This happens in many different ways depending on the location; brotherhood nights, mass, formation weekends, camping, national conferences, local and international missions. YMG fundamentally exists to transform young men in Christ:
– to re-ignite men and help them to reach their God-given potential as leaders and heralds of the truth for future generations.
– to equip and empower men to help others to realise their immense value and purpose.
– to experience the joy and fulfilment of living a life with an enduring and profound purpose.
The fight is getting tougher but the battle is raging on. The Church needs strong, faithful and informed men today more than it ever has before.
This 19-21 October, young men from across Australia will gather to encounter God, experience brotherhood, be empowered to live lives of influence and to be equipped to go back home better sons, brothers, husbands and fathers. Partnering with Men Alive, Be Awake 2018 is going to be a powerful weekend.
